On Wednesday, September 5, 2013, the Jamaican
athlete, Usain Bolt declared his intention to take a bow
after the 2016 Olympics Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The six-time Olympic gold-medalist wants to create a
room for other athletes and at the same time leave the
stage when the ovation is high by retiring as the fastest
man ever.
'If I have to be among the greats of (Muhammad) Ali and
Pele and all these guys, I have to continue dominating
until I retire' Bolt told the Associated Press.
To crown his retirement, the 27-year-old plans on
winning a gold medal in 'Rio de Janeiro' as well as next
year's Commonwealth Games. Including relays, Bolt
owns a combined 14 gold medals in the sport's two
biggest events (Olympics and World Championship) and
is the world record-holder in both the 100 and 200
