Zen Magazine August cover features the present Top Model of Color winner…Ghanian high fashion model Vanessa Agyemang.
Editor’s Note :
What
are your wishes for this new month? Some new clothes? The perfect
bikini body? Becoming famous? A new house or Car? Falling in Love?
Getting married to the man or woman in your life (even better if he
looks like Idris Elba or she looks like Charlize Theron)? The good news is we can offer you nearly all that (well … apart from the Idris and Charlize bit obviously!).
This month’s Zen is packed with brilliant features, from fashion features like Ella Bethel’s latest collection ‘The APERÇU COLLECTION’ and Fabrics of Our Culture via the lens of Ghanaian photographer Eric Acquaye to our inspirational interviews with Ghanaian Award winning actress Lydia Forson, Nigerian top model, presenter and actress Zainab Balogun, and Nigerian born singer and songwriter Douyé, as well as the best model spotlights with Zimbabwean model Kimberley Robinson, and Ghanian model Nunana Awoonor.
On our cover this month is a Ghanaian high fashion model who in our books is an absolute star.Vanessa Agyemang is 2013′s Top Model of Colour winner and she joins the ranks of other top Ghanaian models
who have won the crown before her. This month, we have the fabulous
pleasure of getting Vanessa on our covers as a gift to Top Model of Colour for being one of their media partners this year.
The shoot was organized by our fabulous friends at Shugakane owned by model and entrepreneur Bili Sule and
the theme of the shoot was based on a celebration of colour and culture
– a very fitting cover for a top model of colour. Vanessa is wearing a
couture piece from Clisha Couture and nibbling on a yummy Yaa Ataa clutch bag, all available on shugakane.com.
It
makes me proud and honored that so many people support what we do,
taking us into your confidence – sometimes making sacrifices you’ve
never made before to see a brand grow. These are the qualities to me
that makes Africans such an amazing people …. “What Makes Africa so Special to us isn’t the Government … It’s the People!” I mentioned this over the weekend on Twitter and I am so proud to be African.
So please, do enjoy this month’s edition. Like every Zen,
it was packaged totally with you in mind and as always, I implore you
to please be sociable and let us know what you think of the cover, the
contents and the features for August. We’ve got a 2 Minku bag wallets for free for 2 lucky ladies – so don’t miss out.
